Here is Piglet, all done!  I finished him on Saturday, September 10th.  I have to put my initials in there, but other than that, he’s all done.

Yep, that’s my daughter and that is the hat I knitted for her.  I started it Sunday night and finished it during my lunch time on Monday.  I then started another one, which I finished today at lunch.  I haven’t taken a picture of it yet.  I’m using the loom thing for it, and it goes pretty fast, but on the one I made for my DD, it seems like the stitches are kinda far apart.  I’m going to see if I can fix that.

Tomorrow I think I am going to start gridding my fabric for Ruh.  (Unleashed by Anne Stokes).  The knitting is awesome, and I am enjoying the different hobby, but I think that for now, until I get better at actual knitting (which I am slowly learning while teaching myself off of youtube), I will stick to cross stitching at my lunch time.

Stitchy stitchy stitchy! Piglet has a body and one arm. So one more arm and his legs to go, and then the wording and the backstitching. The good thing is that the back stitching isn’t as bad as Eeyore, so I am not dreading the backstitching at all on Piglet. I am hoping to get some work done on him this weekend, but every time I want to, I never do. But the closer I get to being done with him, the closer I am to restarting Ruh.
My MIL surged the edges of my black fabric for Ruh, so that is all ready. I am seriously considering gridding it as well, but I am not 100% yet.

Say hello to my little pig…. hehehe.  Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Here is Piglet in all of his glory.  This is after stitching him today at lunch.  He is coming along rather well.

I haven’t had my fabric surged to restart Ruh yet, so that is still sitting on the sidelines. 

I just found (thanks to some lovely ladies) some Magic Guide in 18 count.  And it is large enough to do a HAED on, so that is nice.  It is also pretty affordable which is a plus.  The only bad thing, it’s in the UK, so it will take a bit for it to get here.  Although, thinking about it, maybe that is a good thing as I don’t NEED it right away anyways.

So how is everyone’s projects coming along?

It’s been awhile.  As I have made a new blog for “other” stuff, this one will now be for stitching and crafty stuff in only.

Ruh has been put to the side for now.  It didn’t take me long to get bored with all of the black.  I recently purchased some black fabric and will be restarting him, not stitching the black background.  I am hoping to cut my fabric soon and take it to my MIL to get it surged asap. 

In the meantime, I have been working on Eeyore for my sister TK.  I finished him a little while ago, (I will put a picture in soon).  I am now working on Piglet for my sister TC.  He currently has ears and the very tip of his head, lol.  He is coming along well.  I will put in a picture of him soon as well. 

I haven’t stitched at home for a while, so most of my progress is done at work on my lunch hour.  

I am hoping to get some cards done for Christmas this year as well as I have not done that before.  I have a book for small Christmas designs but need to find some cards.  I guess eBay would be a good place to look.  If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

So, lately I have been thinking about trying to learn to knit.  How hard is it??  Anyone have any suggestions on a book or something I should buy that could teach me what I need to know?

March 1, 2011 –

Well hello and say hello to Ruh while you’re here!  This is the latest update on him, from yesterday after my lunch at work.  Almost half of page 2 complete.  It’s slow going right now, and I really do need to set aside some time at home to work on him.  I really need the motivation. 

When I get home, I just want to eat dinner, get done with the showers and such and relax.  I mean, stitching is relaxing to me, but not in the same way as, let us say, WoW, or watching Netflix.  Plus I really don’t like to stitch when I ‘m tired, because I tend to have to frog it later… and Seeing as I am now to the place where I am skipping stitches for other colors (THAN BLACK), I don’t want to count wrong.

So K is on a cruise right now to Mexico!  I am so happy she got to get away from all of this cause she was stressing big time before she left.  But holy crap I miss her!  She is my buffer against M.  I have now made it through 3 days and I have 3 left… I am now the little engine that could!  I think I can, I think I can…

Hubby, DD and I got to see our squishy recently!  OMG it was great to see her!  I haven’t seen her in a few years and I just can not believe it had been so long.  She just started a new job last Weds and she is really liking it.  She contacted my hubby because they have a job opening.  Last night we went and dropped off his resume and he should have his interview on Friday.  I am so hoping he gets the job.  It would be great and I think he would like it for a change. 

Speaking of my squishy, her boyfriend is living with her and he plays WOW.  He is a big time player too.  Well apparently his computer stopped working at some point and squishy asked if my hubby could look at it and see if he could fix it.  He did look at it and fixed it right away, it was a fast and easy fix for my hubby and his awesome computer skills!  Squishies BF was sooo happy!  It was so cute, lol.  Anywho, so hubby has been playing a bit with him and we all made toons on his server.  I haven’t done much with them, but I don’t have one high enough level yet on the server.  My hubby moved over his 85, so that worked out fine.

Our DD is so big… and I don’t want her to grow up so fast.  I want her to stay small forever so that she needs me!  But she is growing into a beautiful smart girl.  I love her so much!

Chore you hate – Cleaning.  Not any specific thing, just in general.  If I could afford a maid, I would have one!

Dogs – I love dogs and cats.  Cats don’t need as much care, in the sense of you can leave them alone the majority of the day while you are at work and they don’t care.  You can’t do that with all kinds of dogs.  I don’t think it’s fair to them.  Here is our kitty in one of the best shots I have taken of him:

Essential start to my day – Coffee coffee and coffee.  I have a large cup of coffee in the morning at home.  Usually I don’t have more after that, but I do occasionally enjoy a Caffino’s latte!  Yummm

Gold or silver – More silver than gold.  Although I like both.

February 7, 2011 -Better-

I’m feeling better!  Woohoo! 

So here is where we went Saturday:

Isn’t it beautiful!  We took a ride to Calistoga.  This is one of the wineries.  We took our DD as she is a princess!  We had a blast!  We got to tour the castle and see all of the different rooms.  Our DD had a wonderful time, only bored during the wine tasting which didn’t take too long.  Even then, she got chocolate and grape juice!  I took a ton of pictures, but this one is a nice shot of the outside of the castle.  We then took a ride a bit farther north, and then turned around and went in a totally different direction.  It was a fun long day and we all had a great time.

Ruh got some work done on him today.  He’s looking good, even if it is all black background right now.

M is bugging the crap out of me at work… my goodness she needs to retire or something.

February 2, 2011 Sickly

I’m sick…. and at work…. this sucks.

Been here so far all day, wanting to not be here at all.  I got 175 emails while out 2 days.  I have 6 left that I am working on, but since the Mid to Eastern part of the USA is snowed in and not working, I won’t be able to do squat on those today anyways.  Why am I still here?  Well…  My wonderful co-worker M has a dentist appointment.  She left for the day already and that would leave K here all by herself for the remainder of the day.  I have an issue with this.  First – M told me this morning when I walked in that she didn’t expect to see me in this week at all.  Second – M’s dentist appointment is a cleaning, one that could have been re-scheduled.  Third – Even though she wasn’t expecting me today, she did not change her appointment, so K would have been all alone for the majority of the day.  Fourth – M is a bitch. 

It isn’t all that busy in here, but if you knew that you had an appointment and figured your co-worker was going to be out sick, leaving the other one alone for the majority of the day, would you cancel and reschedule your appointment?  I would have, but maybe that is because I actually give a crap.  I will probably leave early, I’m thinking about 2:30ish, so that K will be able to take a lunch and will then only be here for 2 hours by herself.  But if I make it that long, can’t I make it until 4:30??  I know I feel horrid, and probably look just as bad, but until she tells me to go home, I’m not moving.  Plus, my hubby would have to come and get me anyways (he’s at his moms working today), so that would be at least 20 minutes of working after she told me to leave.

Right now, I just want to sleep… is that so bad?

Okay, I’m back.  So for the stitchy news:  You saw Ruh, he is coming along nicely.  There is just so much black!  I do like how the other colors pop out though and once I get more done, it will continue to look better because I am doing all of the background (black). 

I haven’t worked on him at home for a while and I think I need to change that.  He is going to take me a long time anyways, and I really don’t want to make it even longer.  If I could just get a schedule down at home for which nights to do what during the week and then on the weekends do such and such it would be great.  However, I have not done that yet…

So this weekend is our DD’s 11th birthday party.  She didn’t want it after her birthday, so a few days before is fine.  Plus next weekend is Superbowl sunday, and that never goes over well for kid’s birthday parties.  She is very excited as her bff gets to finally meet her cousin.  I’m sure fun will be had by all.

Work was quite interesting today.  I had to go to a meeting with M and one other person.  First off, she left without me and when I got to the conference room she acted like I wasn’t supposed to be there.  It was an interesting hour and 45 minutes…  Jeesh I dislike meetings, and then top it off with M, bleh.  Other than that, it went fine.  No bad things really happened other than when I first walked in.
