February 23, 2011 – My abc’s

It’s a post to get to know me.  The ABC’s of me:

Age: 37

Bed Size – California King

Chore you hate – Cleaning.  Not any specific thing, just in general.  If I could afford a maid, I would have one!

Dogs – I love dogs and cats.  Cats don’t need as much care, in the sense of you can leave them alone the majority of the day while you are at work and they don’t care.  You can’t do that with all kinds of dogs.  I don’t think it’s fair to them.  Here is our kitty in one of the best shots I have taken of him:

Essential start to my day – Coffee coffee and coffee.  I have a large cup of coffee in the morning at home.  Usually I don’t have more after that, but I do occasionally enjoy a Caffino’s latte!  Yummm

Favorite color – Purple!

Gold or silver – More silver than gold.  Although I like both.

Height – 5′ 8 I believe.  Not 100% on that.

Instruments you play – None… I’m not instrument inclined at all.

Job title:  Customer Service Representative

Kids – I have a wonderful daughter.

Live – In California.  Don’t believe all you hear, it is not sunny every single day here!

Mom’s Name – Jackie.  I miss my mommy.

Nicknames – Bunches, Donner, DJ

Overnight Hospital Stays – When I had my daughter, C-section.

Pet Peeve – Wow, I have a ton.  I guess the first one that popped into my head is:  When someone cuts you off and then they don’t drive.  If you are going to cut me off, get the hell moving!

Quote from a movie – Baby Ruth?

Right or left-handed – Right handed.

Siblings:  5 older sisters.

Time I wake up – During the week I get up at 5:00 am.  Weekends I get up at 9:30 or earlier depending on what is going on.

Underwear – Um, I am not sure how to answer this one.  Yes, I wear them.

Vegetables you don’t like – Okra… bleh, might as well eat snot.

What makes you run late – Traffic!

X-rays you’ve had – Teeth, kidney stones.

Yummy food you make – Cheesy potatoes

Zoo, what is your favorite animal – Lions and Tigers and big kitties!

February 7, 2011 -Better-

I’m feeling better!  Woohoo!

So here is where we went Saturday:

Isn’t it beautiful!  We took a ride to Calistoga.  This is one of the wineries.  We took our DD as she is a princess!  We had a blast!  We got to tour the castle and see all of the different rooms.  Our DD had a wonderful time, only bored during the wine tasting which didn’t take too long.  Even then, she got chocolate and grape juice!  I took a ton of pictures, but this one is a nice shot of the outside of the castle.  We then took a ride a bit farther north, and then turned around and went in a totally different direction.  It was a fun long day and we all had a great time.

Ruh got some work done on him today.  He’s looking good, even if it is all black background right now.

M is bugging the crap out of me at work… my goodness she needs to retire or something.

Hope you all have a great week!!!

October 18, 2010

Well hello there and happy Monday.  I hope everyone had a good weekend.  I know mind wasn’t what I was expecting.

Here is an updated (from Friday), post of UL.  This was 880 stitches in.  2 over 1 on 18 count Antique White Aida.  (I couldn’t remember if I had put the factoid stuff in here about UL yet).  He is coming along, although not quickly, but I wasn’t expecting that anyway.  I am enjoying him so far, even though it is all black so far.  The first page is mostly black.  I haven’t decided some things yet, so figured I will ask here and see what happens.  Do you think I should 1) Work all of the black in the whole pattern before moving on?  2) Stitch all of the first page and then move to the next page on the top of the pattern?  3) Stitch all of the first page and then move to the next page below the first page?  I am torn of which I should do, so any thoughts would be nice.  I know it is my preference, but I am just not sure.

Our wonderful DD is sick with a cold.  She did go to school today, as she has no fever.  Her nose is really stuffy and she says that her throat is not bothering her.  I told her to tell me if it does because I don’t want her to get strep.

Not much else is going on.  I worked on Eeyore a little bit at home on Saturday.  His face is done with the main color, and I am now working on his body.  He should be a pretty fast stitch, it is just the quarter stitches that are slowing me down right now.  There are far too many.  (So glad HAED don’t have those)!

Have a great day, be back soon hopefully.

September 13, 2010

All done!  I know you can’t see the metallic border, but it is there!  I finished this today at lunch at work.  I started on a WIP ornament that I already had here after I finished.

All I have left now is to frame it up and ship it out.  I left the names on… just realized that.

I started an Eeyore for my sister at home.  He will be a quick stitch I’m sure.  I think he has about 7 or 8 colors total in him.  Then it will be Piglet for my other sister.  These will both be Christmas presents.  I am pretty sure that I will be able to get them finished in time.  If it comes down to a couple of weeks, I will just bring them into work with me, as they are my at home projects.  (They don’t seem to get as much attention as my at work projects.  I should try to set aside a half hour to an hour each night or maybe every other night to stitch at home.  That would at least make it so that the project I am working on at home will get some time in each week and not just sit there like the WIPs they become.  Hmm.

So I believe I mentioned that my sisters mother-in-law was coming home with hospice.  Well, she passed away not even 24 hours after coming home.  The good thing, she waited for all of her sons and daughter to be with her when she passed.  We went to the viewing/rosary last night.  The mass was today, but my sister was okay with us not going.  I told her that I would go to both if she wanted, but she said one would be fine.  Everyone was of course sad, but they seemed to be doing pretty good under the circumstances.  They are supposed to meet on Tuesday, (tomorrow), on everything else.

Other than that, our weekend consisted of… not much.  We went out on Saturday and got our daughter some new jammies, we ate some lunch and then went to see the puppies.  OOH… the puppies!  Here they are!  Six in all, and they are adorable.  This is all of them at 1 week old.  Aren’t they just the cutest?

I have finished my most recent King book… Bag of Bones.  I think I read it before, but I am not 100% on that.  Anyways.  I’m kinda reading Gerald’s Game now, but it’s weird.  I am wanting to read something else… style wise, but I’m not sure what.  Suggestions?  I wouldn’t mind a nice suspense or fantasy type.  A series would be good too.

Not much else to report right now.  I thought there was something else, but I can’t remember.

Toodles!

August 13, 2010

Here is an updated picture of Albert.  You can really see all of the details are in and it is basically just filling in now.  He makes me smile, and I need that.  My stitching has been limited to only work as I have not been stitching at home at all.  LOVE has not been worked on in quite awhile and is just sitting there on the qsnaps gathering dust.  I guess I should work on it, but when at home I try to do stuff that ocupies my mind more and cross stitching, (although involved) doesn’t really ocupy my mind as much as I would like it to.  Of course I also have thought that if I finish LOVE and start another one, maybe that would help…  any thoughts?  Do I just finish LOVE and move on to the next one?

Our wonderful daughter is about to enter the 5th grade.  She has almost all of her clothes for the new year, only a couple pairs of shoes and some socks to buy and she is good to go!  Oh, and probably a jacket too.  (We might wait on that for a bit).  She is excited to go back to school so that is great.  The last few days she has had a bit of an attitude.  And since her and I are so similar, we butt heads very quickly.  It’s been interesting to say the least.

Hubby and I have now been smoke free for over 5 months.  August 8th was the 5 month mark.  On August 9th, we celebrated our 14 year wedding anniversary!  It seems like only yesterday we were saying our vows to each other, but it also seems like forever.  As I can not remember a time when he wasn’t there.  (In a good way of course).  I love my hubby with every ounce of my being.  He is my rock and my protector.  I seriously don’t know what I would have done over the past month if he was not here.

Work outs are going well, we haven’t gone this week for numerous reasons.  Monday and Wednesday hubby wasn’t feeling good and today I feel like crap.  Had to come to work though, cause K is out today.

Everything else has been going.  I still am having a hard time with my mom’s passing.  I really still feel like it is a dream.  I have talked to my dad numerous times, and my sister for that matter, but it really doesn’t feel like it is real.  Hubby is worried about me because I still feel this way.  I’m not sure how I am supposed to feel.

Not much else to say….  I hope everyone has a good weekend.  Bye

Today is

3 months and 1 day that my husband and I have been cigarette free.  It’s amazing to feel so much better even only 3 months.

Cross stitch news:  Well as it’s been awhile since I have been out here… hmm.  I finished both of the birth samplers, (I think I already told you that).  I am now working on Albert at work.  He is coming along very well.  I finished the 1st page on Saturday at home.  (I take him home on the weekends).  At home I am now working on a wedding anouncement.  It is very simple and I am enjoying it so far.  It shouldn’t take me long to complete and the wedding is not until October, so I have time.  My hubby bought me a new HAED and I will be starting it as soon as Albert is complete.  Unleashed by Anne Stokes!  Georgeous!  I am also going to get back to the fairies that I am doing for my daughter.  I have 1 of the 4 done and I really need to complete them.  My hubby is also making me another set of floss for at work so I don’t have to lug them around with me back and forth all of the time.  🙂  He is so awesome!

Our dearest daughter is finishing 4th grade on Friday.  Wow, I will have a 5th grader!  She is really excited and ready for summer to be here!  She made honor roll each semester this year.  Her school starts honor roll in 3rd grade, and she got 2 last year, (second and third semester).  She has received them all this year.  We are going to her award ceremony tomorrow morning!  woohoo

Workout news:  It is going well.  We missed a couple of days, (see below for information on that).  Today we are getting biodensity tests done.  Not a workout per se, but it will be good enough I think.  We are going to be pushing our muscles to their limits…  I am enjoying the elipitical, although I am really shocked that I am saying that.  I am really loving the machine.

My hubby’s grandma passed away last week and the viewing/funeral/burial were Friday and Saturday.  I did not go to any but did go to the dinner after the funeral/burial.  It was nice to get to see some of the people again, but others… well let’s just say I could have gone another 8+ years not seeing them.  There is just so much history there and it really isn’t something that I like to put myself or my daughter around.  I just don’t understand some people.

Life in general has been pretty good for us.  Hubby is still looking for a job and continues to put resumes in all over the place.  Every single rejection or no call back is a blow to him and I hate to see it, but what is he supposed to do?

My hubby bought me a new blender today.  (I asked for it btw).  So tonight when we get home, it’s margaretta time!!!  Looking forward to that!

Well have a good night blog peeps.  I will try to get out here more often!  Oh and here is a pic of Albert!
